The Author

Author and speaker Lisa Boucher has devoted the last several decades helping women to recovery from alcoholism, and as life changes so has her mission. The one common denominator she’s noticed when interacting with others out in the world is that people in general struggle to trust Jesus and let go of the things in their lives that they can’t control. It’s with that thought in mind that the Lord led her to find the prayer of King Jehoshaphat that prompted her to write, Pray. Trust. Ride: Lessons on Surrender from a Cowgirl and a King, in hopes it would help others to lean on God and let go of those things in our lives that strangle our hearts and keep us up at night.

Pray. Trust. Ride.

Pray. Trust. Ride. encourages you to stay in the saddle and ride through life with a loose rein. We live more fully when we can let go—even when all looks bleak and our brains scream, Hang on and do something! Do anything! Fix this! Stop that! The truth is, those problems that strangle our hearts are the sort of problems that we can’t fix. Letting go allows us to accept that we’ll have problems and people in our lives that we can love but that we can’t control. We can’t save others from themselves. We can’t stop the inevitable from happening, but we can let go.

Today “letting go” is frequently discussed and seldom understood. Lisa Boucher in her new book, PRAY. TRUST. RIDE,  shows how the Bible can teach us that “it’s not about giving up on the dream, but about giving up on the way we think the dream should unfold.” She illustrates through King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles how to follow the path of faith.  This book will stay with you long after you have read it!

In the Old West, one of the highest compliments you could give a person was to say they were “someone to ride the river with.” Meaning, of course, in challenging, difficult and dangerous times, you need a person you can trust, who will stay by your side no matter how bad things get. Lisa Boucher’s stunning, inspirational, humorous and heartwarming new book Pray. Trust. Ride. is that kind of companion. With masterful ease Lisa guides us along the trail of a more spiritual path, showing us beautiful vistas of peace, contentment and faith. Beautifully written and powerfully moving, Pray. Trust.
